Château Haut Brion 1989
1989 Chateau Haut-Brion, Pessac-Leognan, France
"One of the greatest and legendary wines of Bordeaux of the last half-century. The Haut Brion 1989 is consistently prodigious and almost a winning bet for any blind tasting of this vintage as well as others, it is a majestic and flawless classic, a tribute to this phenomenal terroir and its particular characteristics. The wine still has a very concentrated ruby-purple color, a spectacular hue, still young on the nose but impressive with its aromas ranging from burnt earth, to notes of graphite, blackberries, blackcurrant jam, licorice, and spice box.
