The Côte de Beaune is located in Côte-d’Or just 20 kilometers away but differs from its neighbor by producing some of the most prestigious dry white wines and softer red wines, thanks in particular to their soils.

The Côte de Beaune has eight Grands Crus, seven whites like the Corton-Charlemagne or Montrachet, and one red the Corton.

Even though this region is globally recognized for its great white wines, its red wines are highly appreciated for their finesse and aromatic complexity. A neighboring vineyard of Volnay, the wines of Pommard are an excellent example.

Our selection of the best producers from the Côte de Beaune:

  • Domaine Leflaive: it is the most beautiful white wine estate of the Côte de Beaune. Its premier crus are at the level of the grands crus and "les Pucelles" is certainly one of the best.
  • Domaine Drouhin: their clos des mouches, a plot purchased in 1920, produces one of the best premier crus of the appellation (in both white and red).
  • Domaine Jacques Prieur: this vast estate of 21 ha possesses the greatest terroirs of Burgundy (including a plot of Montrachet).
