Perched at 700 m altitude, the vineyard benefits from a semi-continental climate with hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters.
Once the wine is obtained, the long and incredible aging of the Unico begins. The master will follow the evolution of the wine in barrels for no less than 7 years. After this patient aging process, the wine is bottled, but it will remain at the estate for an additional four years to further refine it. This is why the wine is not delivered until 10 years after the harvest.
To enjoy its wide aromatic palette, it should be decanted 1 hour before serving at 18 degrees.
Only the great vintages see the appearance of Vega Sicilia Unico. Thus, in the vintages 1992, 1997, 2000, and 2001, this wine does not exist.
Wine style: An opulent wine, with a smooth and infinite length. Notes of candied and macerated black fruits, woody spices.
