The Chianti appellation is located in the Tuscany region of Italy and is one of the country's most famous. Chianti is primarily made from the Sangiovese grape, which must constitute at least 75% of the wine. Other grape varieties like Canaiolo Nero, Malvasia del Chianti, and Trebbiano Toscano can also be used, but always in more modest quantities. Chianti wine is an elegant and fruity red, which develops complex aromas with age, notably of violets, jam, vanilla, and cinnamon.

Chianti Riserva is a premium version of this appellation, which must be aged for at least two years, including three months in the bottle. This additional aging allows it to acquire increased complexity and deeper aromas.

Chianti wines are generally medium to full-bodied, with pleasant acidity and moderate tannins, making them particularly versatile at the table. Depending on their age and complexity, the ideal serving temperature varies between 15 and 17°C.

Chianti pairs perfectly with typical Tuscan cuisine dishes, such as pasta with tomato sauce, roasted meats, aged cheeses, and cured meats. It is one of the most appreciated and representative red wines of Italy, known for its balance between fruitiness and tannic structure.
