Village of the Côte de Beaune, which gives its name to an appellation in great white wines, made from the Chardonnay grape in red, based on Pinot Noir, over 300 ha.


While excellent reds, and some 1st crus, come from the south of the village, on limestone and marl soils, it is the production of great whites that has made the reputation of Chassagne.


Chassagne-Montrachet has as a classified grand cru: Criots-Batard-Montrachet
