Vintages

The wines of Grisons are distinguished by a great diversity of terroirs and styles, mainly distributed between two sub-wine regions: the Bündner Herrschaft and the Churer Rheintal.

1) The Bündner Herrschaft

Located in the north of the canton of Grisons, this region is the largest and most recognized, with about 345 hectares of vineyards. The communes of Fläsch, Maienfeld, Malans, and Jenins are part of it. The climate is ideal for the cultivation of white and red grape varieties, thanks to favorable sun exposure and varied soil. The Pinot Noir is the emblematic grape variety of the region, but there are also white wines made from grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, and Sauvignon Blanc. These wines are characterized by their finesse, aromatic complexity, and a beautiful aging capacity.

2) The Churer Rheintal

Located in the south, this region is smaller but just as promising in terms of quality. It extends along the Rhine and includes the communes of Igis, Zizers, Trimmis, and Chur. Although this area is less known than the Bündner Herrschaft, it has great potential, especially for the production of red wines, mainly from Pinot Noir, but also white wines made from Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. The climate is also favorable, allowing for slow ripening of the grapes, which results in fresh and balanced wines.

The wines of Grisons, whether red or white, are distinguished by their minerality, aromatic richness, and freshness. The varied terroirs, combined with traditional and modern know-how, contribute to the creation of exceptional wines that perfectly reflect the identity and potential of this Swiss wine region.
