A historical pillar of the Bordeaux vineyard, overseen by Domaine Clarence Dillon
Founded in 1525 by Jean de Pontac, the estate is today owned by Domaine Clarence Dillon, led by Prince Robert of Luxembourg (CEO) and managed daily by Jean-Philippe Delmas, deputy general manager, alongside Pascal Baratié (head of cultivation) and Jean-Philippe Masclef (technical director and cellar master). They perpetuate a tradition of excellence combined with assumed innovation.

Terroir & grape varieties: emblematic gravel and red-white balance
The vineyard (≈ 51 ha red + ≈ 2.9 ha white) rests on coarse gravel on clay, sand, and limestone, on hills peaking at 27 m. For the reds: Merlot (~45%), Cabernet Sauvignon (~44%), Cabernet Franc (~10%), Petit Verdot (~1%). For the whites: Sémillon (~53%), Sauvignon Blanc (~47%).

Viticulture & philosophy: tradition, precision, and modernity
Sustainable viticulture, rigorous clonal selection, high density, manual harvesting by plot team. The estate innovated very early (stainless steel, underground cellar, internal coopering) and continues to reduce yields to favor concentration and typicity.

Vinification & aging: nobility, modernity, finesse
Vinifications rely on micro-parceling, adapted macerations, pneumatic pressing for whites, barrel fermentation (for whites) and stainless steel/concrete vats for reds, with malolactic fermentation. Aging of 18 months in barrels for the grand red wine (≈35% new wood), 10-12 months for the white (≈40-45% new). Meticulous blends ensuring purity, freshness, and structure.
