Founded at the end of the 19th century in Beaune, the house Arthur Barolet & Fils embodies a traditional and refined vision of the great wines of Burgundy. Passed down from generation to generation, it has distinguished itself by a highly qualitative trading approach, focused on the rigorous selection of the best terroirs and patient, traditional aging.

Terroir & philosophy

Arthur Barolet & Fils does not own vineyards but works exclusively with selected plots from partner winemakers in Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise and even Chablis. Each cuvée comes from an identified terroir and adheres to a strict quality charter, based on optimal grape maturity, respect for traditional practices, and the pursuit of a classic balance.

Vinification & style

The vinifications are entrusted to experienced artisans, under the control of the house. Fermentations are slow, extractions measured. Aging is done in French oak barrels, with moderate use of new wood to preserve the character of the cru. The Barolet style is that of a sober, authentic Burgundy, aged gracefully, with fine, balanced reds, and whites with a noble texture.

Iconic cuvées

  • Pommard: racy, structured, with beautiful integrated tannins.

  • Gevrey-Chambertin: straight, spicy, with a beautiful mineral energy.

  • Volnay: elegant, silky, with great floral finesse.

  • Meursault: ample, buttery yet tense, with a saline touch.

  • Nuits-Saint-Georges: powerful, earthy, yet always controlled.
