Nestled in Volnay, just south of Beaune, Domaine Marquis d’Angerville spans about 16.5 ha, including 11.5 ha of Volnay Premier Cru. From its origins documented in 1507 under the Dukes of Burgundy, the estate has remained in the same family since 1804. Today, sixth-generation winemaker Guillaume d’Angerville, with vineyard manager François Duvivier and a dedicated team, leads its delicate balance of tradition and innovation. Fully converted to biodynamics, the estate prioritizes terroir stewardship above all.

A distinctive Volnay terroir

Prestigious parcels—Clos des Ducs (a monopole), Taillepieds, Champans, Frémiet—are planted on marly-calcareous scree with southeast exposure and good drainage. Vines root deeply, drawing structure, minerality, and refinement. The ancient Clos des Ducs remains a benchmark of elegant Burgundian expression.

Wine Style

These are wines of exceptional purity and refinement. The reds (Pinot Noir only) combine delicate structure, silken tannins, and subtle depth. The whites (Chardonnay, Aligoté) are pure, expressive, and balanced. Winemaking emphasizes authenticity: minimal new oak influence, restrained extraction, letting each terroir speak.
