Elegant precision, earthy finesse, and unknown charm

Small confidential estate of about 7 hectares on the eastern slopes of the Pomerol appellation, Château Péby Faugères is a discreet and refined reference of the right bank. Resulting from the expertise of the Réal family for several generations, it is now led with rigor by Sébastien Réal, a passionate oenologist, around a philosophy focused on the purity of the fruit and the natural expression of the Pomerol terroir.

A delicate & qualitative terroir

The vines are planted on clay-gravel soils, mixing fine gravel and red clay, offering richness and aromatic density. The grape variety is mainly Merlot (≈80%), with Cabernet Franc (≈15%) and a hint of Petit Verdot, planted on well-exposed slopes to ensure maturity and balance.

Attentive viticulture

Reasoned viticulture, plot management, natural grassing, careful localization of interventions. The harvest is entirely manual, with double sorting intended to select only ripe and healthy grapes. Constant attention is paid to soil preservation and biodiversity within the plots.

Subtle vinification & aging

Vinification in small thermo-regulated stainless steel vats, medium macerations (2 to 3 weeks). The wine is then aged for 14 to 16 months in French oak barrels (≈40% new wood), to refine softness, structure, and aromatic expression without weighing down the fruit.

Style & signature cuvée

Château Péby Faugères: bright purple robe, delicate nose of black cherry, raspberry, undergrowth, and subtle spices; the palate is fresh, velvety, impeccably balanced with fine tannins and a saline touch. Elegant, precise style, ready to drink in its early years but capable of evolving slowly for 10 to 15 years.
