Carpineta Fontalpino — Modern Soul of Chianti
Located in Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the southern part of Chianti Classico, Fattoria Carpineta Fontalpino represents a bold yet respectful vision of modern Tuscany. Run by siblings Gioia and Filippo Cresti, the estate blends tradition with innovation, and meticulous viticulture with a strong sense of place.
With around 20 hectares under vine, the estate is farmed sustainably, with no chemical herbicides or synthetic fertilizers.
Philosophy and Production
Winemaker Gioia Cresti focuses on precision vinification, with long fermentations, careful oak management (primarily French barrels), and a clear commitment to terroir expression.
While Sangiovese remains central to the estate’s identity, Carpineta Fontalpino also shines with bold, structured wines made from Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, showing a contemporary interpretation of Tuscan winemaking.
Wine Style
The wines are deep, structured, and refined. The Chianti Classico is fresh, pure, and elegant, while the estate’s Super Tuscan bottlings deliver power, finesse, and complexity—layered with notes of black fruit, spice, tobacco, and mineral undertones.
The overall style is modern but grounded, with a clear technical mastery and expressive depth.
