History of Château du Cèdre

The estate was founded by Léon Verhaeghe, a Belgian immigrant, who settled in the Lot in the 1950s. His son, Charles Verhaeghe, then took over the estate and began replanting the vines on the stony terroirs of Cahors. Today, the brothers Pascal and Jean-Marc Verhaeghe, grandsons of Léon and qualified oenologists, continue the family work, with a strong commitment to quality and innovation.

Commitment to Organic Viticulture

The Château du Cèdre was a pioneer in adopting organic viticulture practices in the Cahors region. The estate obtained its organic certification in 2012, implementing environmentally friendly practices to produce wines that fully express the richness and diversity of its terroir.
