Domaine Hubert Lignier – Morey-Saint-Denis in its noblest expression

Located in Morey-Saint-Denis, the Domaine Hubert Lignier is a deeply respected name among lovers of great Burgundy wines. Coming from several generations of winemakers, the estate is now run by Laurent Lignier, son of Hubert, who continues the family tradition while bringing a precise and contemporary vision.

The estate operates approximately 10 hectares, spread over prestigious climates of the Côte de Nuits: Morey-Saint-Denis, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, as well as some emblematic crus in Nuits-Saint-Georges and Pommard. Among the flagship plots, there are Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint-Denis, and Les Chaffots.

The vine cultivation is non-certified organic, conducted with care: no herbicides, light plowing, gentle treatments, and fine observation of the vegetative cycle. The estate favors moderate yields to ensure natural concentration and expression of the terroir.

In the cellar, the philosophy is clear: minimal intervention, maximum precision. Fermentations are spontaneous with indigenous yeasts, in wooden or stainless steel vats, depending on the vintages. Whole bunches are often partially preserved to add complexity and freshness. The aging lasts 18 to 22 months in barrels, with a moderate proportion of new wood, around 20 to 30%.

The style of the wines is deep, structured yet always elegant, with a fine tannic structure, ripe fruit without heaviness, and great aging potential. Each cuvée accurately expresses the minerality, density, and nobility of its original terroir.
