Domaine Philippe Colin — Precision and minerality in Côte de Beaune

Based in Meursault, Domaine Philippe Colin is renowned for its meticulous work on Burgundy’s great white terroirs. Since the 1980s, Philippe Colin has focused on expressing the finesse and mineral complexity of Chardonnay through natural, respectful viticulture.

The estate spans about 14 hectares across Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Saint-Aubin, farmed organically to highlight each vineyard’s unique character.

Philosophy and winemaking

Manual harvesting and minimal intervention in the cellar define the domaine’s approach: natural fermentations, extended aging in old barrels, and very limited use of new oak. The goal is to craft wines that are taut, elegant, and rich in aromatic expression, while preserving freshness and terroir minerality.

Wine style

Philippe Colin’s wines are marked by purity, balance, and silky texture. The whites reveal floral and white fruit aromas, toasted almonds, saline minerality, and impressive length. Subtle yet deep, these wines offer great complexity.

Signature cuvées

  • Meursault “Les Clous” – A precise and mineral-driven wine with white flowers and flint notes.

  • Meursault 1er Cru “Les Perrières” – A powerful, classic wine with broad minerality.

  • Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru “Les Referts” – Elegant and fresh with pronounced mineral tension.

  • Saint-Aubin 1er Cru “En Remilly” – More accessible but finely textured.

  • Meursault 1er Cru “Les Charmes” – Round, ample, and complex with rich aromatics.

A terroir-driven artisan

Philippe Colin is a passionate craftsman committed to authenticity and precision. His wines are sincere reflections of their terroir, prized for understated elegance and excellent aging potential. An essential domaine for lovers of great Burgundy whites.
