At the border between Rioja and the Basque Country, nestled in a preserved natural setting, the Arínzano estate is one of Spain's best-kept secrets. Inhabited by vines since the 11th century, this exceptional site became in 2007 the first estate to obtain the Vinos de Pago in Navarre – the highest designation in the country, reserved for exceptional terroirs.

History & Terroir

Surrounded by forests, hills, and crossed by the Ega, the estate spans nearly 300 hectares, with 128 planted with vines. The varied soils – clay-limestone, gravelly, and alluvial – as well as the altitude (350 to 500 m) allow for slow and balanced ripening. This temperate climate, with Atlantic influence, gives the wines a rare freshness for the region.

Philosophy & Winemaking

Under the direction of winemaker Manuel Louzada (formerly of Numanthia), Arínzano combines technical precision with respect for nature. Viticulture is entirely organic, manual harvesting, and each plot is vinified separately. Extractions are gentle, aging is meticulously done in carefully selected French barrels. The style is elegant, structured, never demonstrative.

Iconic Cuvées

  • Arínzano Gran Vino Tinto: High-altitude parcel Tempranillo, complex, racy, with fine tannins.

  • Arínzano Gran Vino Blanco: 100% Chardonnay, subtle, tense, with a rare depth in Spain.

  • Hacienda de Arínzano Tinto: Signature cuvée combining freshness, balance, and finesse.
