Established in the early 2000s, FUTO Estate sits in the wooded hills of Oakville, Napa Valley. Planted on virgin soil, the estate has deliberately remained small—around 20 planted acres—to ensure total control and maximum precision. Its discreet, collector-driven approach quickly elevated it to cult status among American Cabernet aficionados.

Vineyard & Grape Varieties
The estate spans two prime sites: Oakville and Stags Leap District. Cabernet Sauvignon is predominant, joined by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Unusually for Napa, a tiny block of Sauvignon Blanc exists, yielding the highly rare FUTO Blanc. The vineyards benefit from stony, well-drained soils, cool forested microclimates, and excellent elevations that impart finesse and complexity.

Winemaking Philosophy
FUTO is all about meticulous control: vineyard blocks are picked and handled individually, selections are manual, only free-run juice is used, and ageing takes place in custom barrels, amphorae, or neutral vessels. Fermentations are long and gravity-driven, facilitated by a compact, pristine cellar. Hygiene, precision, and attention to detail are paramount in every stage.

FUTO wines are celebrated for their crystalline purity, elegant depth, and superb structure. Cabs are expressive, refined, with grainy tannins and vibrant texture.
