Domaine Lécheneaut – Refined Pinot Noir from the Heart of the Côte de Nuits
Based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Lécheneaut is a family-run estate producing finely crafted Pinot Noir across 18 appellations of the Côte de Nuits. From village plots to Premier Crus and the rare Clos de la Roche Grand Cru, the domaine reflects the diversity and nuance of the region with precision and dedication.
Under the direction of brothers Philippe and Vincent, the estate embraces organic viticulture: no herbicides, regular soil work, limited yields, and detailed vineyard management. Harvest is done by hand with careful sorting to ensure optimal fruit quality.
In the cellar, vinification is both minimalist and meticulous. Grapes may be partially destemmed, fermentations proceed with native yeasts, and macerations are adapted to each site’s character. Aging typically lasts 18 months in French oak barrels, with measured use of new wood. No fining or filtration is employed before bottling.
Lécheneaut wines are known for their clarity of fruit, silky tannins, and balanced acidity. The village wines offer immediate pleasure, the Premier Crus bring depth and structure, while the Grand Cru shows gravitas, finesse, and aging potential.
