Domaine des Croix – A New Vision of Beaune at the Top
A Recent Signature That Has Become Essential
Created in 2005 by the American Ken Fredrickson and led from the start by David Croix (formerly at Camille Giroud), Domaine des Croix quickly established itself as one of the greatest names in Beaune. David Croix, a figure of precision winemaking, developed an artisanal and minimalist approach on about fifteen plots mainly located around Beaune.
An Exceptional Plot Heritage
The estate operates about 7 hectares, including several historical climates of Beaune:
Beaune 1er Cru Grèves
Beaune 1er Cru Cent-Vignes
Beaune 1er Cru Pertuisots
Beaune 1er Cru Bressandes
Corton Grand Cru (Les Grèves, La Vigne au Saint)
The plots are worked according to the principles of biodynamics (not certified), with constant attention to the soil-vine-climate balance.
Natural and Patient Winemaking
Manual harvesting, partial or total destemming depending on the vintage, indigenous yeasts, gentle macerations, and very few interventions. Aging is done in barrels (15–25% new) for 16 to 18 months, without fining or filtration. The style is pure, tense, deep, true to the terroir.
Straight & Refined Reds
The wines of the estate are distinguished by their aromatic purity, their freshness, and a velvety tannicity that refines admirably with age. The Corton, rare and sought after, impresses with its structure without rigidity.
