Heir to the Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux, Charles Lachaux has managed to reinterpret Burgundian classicism through a precise and daring plot-based approach. Alongside the evolution of the family estate, he is also developing a micro-negotiation inspired by the most demanding methods of the Côte de Nuits.
Philosophy & winemaking
Charles practices uncompromising viticulture, refusing plowing, favoring biodiversity, and adapting his pruning to respect the vine. The winemaking is done without additives, with indigenous yeasts, and the aging process bans new wood to preserve the purity of the fruit. Each cuvée reflects a desire for precision and harmony.
Terroirs & vineyards
Based in Vosne-Romanée, he vinifies plots spread between Côtes de Nuits-Villages, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, and a few rare premier crus. Each terroir is treated with meticulous care, without inter-plot blending.
Iconic cuvées
Côte de Nuits-Villages “Aux Montagnes”: vibrant, fine, and intense pinot noir.
Bourgogne Aligoté “Les Champs d’Argent”: precise, floral, and saline white.
Other plot selections: Vosne-Romanée “Les Suchots”, Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru, Pommard…
Wine style
Charles Lachaux's wines are driven by natural tension, silky tannins, and a chiseled minerality. Each bottle expresses the depth of the terroir with rare elegance. The reds are vibrant, refined, and immediately drinkable while retaining their aging potential.
