A subtle balance enhanced by the von Neipperg family
Owned by the von Neipperg family since 1998, Château la Gaffelière is currently led by Alban de von Neipperg, supported by his brother Willem-Johan von Neipperg, the estate manager, and the oenologist Marion Ruppli. Their vision: a terroir wine combining elegance, precision, and pure expression.

Terroir & grape varieties: clay-limestone complexity
The vineyard covers 32 ha, divided between clay-limestone slopes and gravelly plateaus. Typical blend: Merlot (~70%), Cabernet Franc (~20%), Cabernet Sauvignon (~10%), for density, freshness, and length.

Viticulture & philosophy: biological and plot-specific rigor
Certified organic viticulture, with soil work, controlled grassing, and manual harvesting by plot. Sorting is done grape by grape; the approach aims to express the fine nuances of each terroir.

Vinification & aging: tension and delicate woodiness
Separate vinifications, in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats with macerations of 3 to 4 weeks. Aging for 16 to 18 months in French barrels (≈ 50% new), for fine tannins, a salivating structure, and a silky texture.

Iconic cuvées
Château la Gaffelière (Grand Vin): deep color, complex nose of black fruits, violet, graphite, and floral notes. Dense, elegant palate, silky tannins, persistent saline finish.
L’Art de Gaffelière: plot-specific cuvée, precise expression of selected terroirs, more mineral, slender, and refined.
