Founded in 1989 by José Luis Pérez Ovejero and now led by his daughter Sara Pérez, Mas Martinet sits in Gratallops, within the legendary Priorat region. Covering around 15 hectares of old Grenache and Carignan vines (with fewer international varieties over time), the estate embraces sustainable agroecology—treating vine, olive groves and forest as one resilient ecosystem since the early 2000s.
An extraordinary slate-based terroir
The steep, exposed vineyards are rooted in llicorella — mineral-rich slate and quartz soils that impart striking intensity, precision and elegance to the wines.
Wine style
Mas Martinet expresses powerful yet refined wines, grounded in mineral expression and alive with natural freshness. Gentle tannins and thoughtful aging (cement, amphoras, foudres) highlight both clarity and depth.

Philosophy & Winemaking
Grounded in agroecology, Mas Martinet emphasizes hands-off, terroir-driven methods. Manual harvest, wild yeast fermentations, and minimal manipulation in fermentation and aging create truthful, emotive wines that fully reflect their place of origin, with no pretension.
