Founded in the 1970s in Saint-Montan, at the heart of the Coteaux de l’Ardèche, the Domaine Gallety is a family-owned property passionately managed by David Gallety, succeeding his father Alain. The estate is one of the few that has managed to establish a precise and ambitious vision of great southern reds, outside the classic AOCs, while adhering to an approach of absolute quality.

Classified as IGP Coteaux de l’Ardèche, Gallety has convinced the greatest sommeliers and critics with the nobility of its syrahs and grenaches, always vinified with rigor and without artifice. Today, the estate is considered a true exception of southern France, at the crossroads of Rhone and Burgundy influences.

Philosophy & vineyard

The vines, cultivated in certified organic agriculture, rest on clay-limestone soils, facing south, between 150 and 300 meters in altitude. Respect for the terroirs, parcel selection, and precise vinification are at the heart of the estate's philosophy.

Gallety claims an artisanal and perfectionist approach: manual harvesting, rigorous sorting, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, long aging, barrels chosen for the fineness of the grain and the slowness of evolution.

Iconic cuvées

  • Gallety rouge: Syrah and Grenache blend, aged 18 months in barrels. The estate's signature cuvée.

  • Syrare: high-end cuvée 100% Syrah, both dense, tense, and fresh, often bottled in magnum.

  • Blanc de Gallety (rare): in small quantities, based on viognier, roussanne, or chardonnay depending on the year.

Wine style

The estate's reds are both powerful, straight, spicy, and mineral, without heaviness or overripeness. Their aging potential is remarkable, especially in magnum. The style sometimes evokes the great wines of the northern Rhône, with a controlled southern touch.
