Domaine E. Guigal – Excellence from the Rhône since 1946
An estate founded on family passion
The Domaine E. Guigal was established in 1946 in Ampuis, at the heart of Côte-Rôtie. For three generations, the Guigal family has been crafting exceptional wines, with constant attention to detail and quality. Today, the house is a key figure in the Rhône Valley, both in the north and the south.
Prestigious vineyards
The estate owns vineyards in the most renowned appellations of the northern Rhône: Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Cornas, and Crozes-Hermitage. It also selects grapes from the finest terroirs in the south such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, and Tavel.
Demanding viticulture and respect for the terroir
The vines are carefully cultivated on steep slopes, often in terraces. The approach is reasoned, with a focus on soil preservation and expression of the local climate. Harvesting is manual and sorting is rigorous.
Long and precise aging
Guigal is renowned for the length of its aging processes, which can reach up to 3 years for certain cuvées. The use of oak barrels is mastered, often with new wood, to bring complexity and depth without overshadowing the fruit.
Style: power, precision, longevity
The wines of the estate are distinguished by their aromatic richness, remarkable balance, and great aging potential. The Syrah expresses itself with intensity, between black fruits, spices, and smoky notes. The Viognier in Condrieu combines opulence and freshness.
Iconic cuvées:
Côte-Rôtie Brune & Blonde: balance between fruit, spices, and finesse
Côte-Rôtie La Mouline, La Landonne, La Turque: powerful, complex, with great aging potential
Condrieu La Doriane: floral, rich, elegant
