Aristocratic precision, floral intensity, and texture finesse

Second Grand Cru Classé of 1855, Château Rauzan‑Ségla embodies the structured elegance of Margaux at its most refined. Acquired in 1994 by the House of Louis Roederer, the estate covers 52 hectares of deep gravel and benefits from rigorous technical management led by Sébastien Ménard and Jérôme Bressy. The style combines ripe power, mineral balance, and aristocratic length.

Terroir & grape varieties

The vines rest on Günzian gravel mounds resting on a clay-limestone subsoil. The grape variety is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (54%), accompanied by Merlot (40%), Petit Verdot (5%), and a touch of Cabernet Franc (1%), ensuring complexity and finesse.

Viticulture & plot approach

Manual harvesting, meticulous sorting, demanding plot work, controlled grassing, and sustainable vineyard management. Biodiversity and soil life are actively promoted, in a philosophy of excellence respectful of the environment.

Vinification & aging

Each plot is vinified separately in stainless steel, concrete, or wooden vats according to its typicity. Gentle macerations, precise extractions. The aging lasts 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels, of which 50% are new, to refine the structure without masking the fruit.

Style & cuvées
