A mythical family serving a unique grape variety

Founded in Montalcino in 1865 by Ferruccio Biondi-Santi, the estate is the origin of the first Brunello in 1888, a radical innovation that would become the global benchmark for Sangiovese Grosso. Today, the sixth generation, embodied by Jacopo and Tancredi, continues this prestigious tradition on some 47 hectares spread over historic sites such as Il Greppo, I Pieri, Scarnacuoia, Pievecchia, and Ribusuoli.

A terroir crafted for excellence

Planted on galestro, clay, and schist soils at altitudes ranging from 200 to 560 meters, the vineyard benefits from numerous exposures and microclimates. The century-old vines and a rigorous massal selection (the BBS11 clone) ensure rare concentration and typicity.

Precision viticulture, tradition respected

Low-yield lines, manual harvesting, indigenous yeasts, long macerations in non-cooled concrete vats, and aging for a minimum of 36 months in large casks (Slavonia): each step aims to preserve purity, tannic finesse, and freshness, while ensuring immense aging potential.

Signature style: balance, power, and purity

Brunello offers a deep tannic structure, remarkable liveliness, and aromas of black cherry, spices, tobacco, and graphite. The Riserva, from the best years, develops additional complexity and exceptional aging potential.
