A rocky estate led by three generations of enthusiasts
Since 1986, Valérane de Saint‑Cosme and Marc de Saint‑Cosme, inspired by their grandfather Jean‑Pierre, have firmly held this emblematic estate of the Rhône Valley. As a winemaker and oenologist, Valérane represents organic continuity, while Marc orchestrates the vineyard and winemaking with precision and attention to detail.

Terroir & grape varieties: schist, granite, and diversity
The estate covers 44 ha spread across Gigondas, Cornas, Saint‑Joseph, and Côtes‑du‑Rhône. Each appellation thrives on distinct soils: granite in Cornas, gneiss, and clay in Gigondas. The grape varieties are typical: grenache, syrah, mourvèdre, with rarer varieties depending on the cuvées.

Viticulture & philosophy: ancestral respect and rigor
Cultivated organically since the 2000s, the estate prioritizes biodiversity and low yields. Manual harvesting, strict sorting in whole bunches, and respectful extraction in concrete, wood, and stainless steel tanks.

Vinification & aging: straight, precise, and unique styles
Parcel-based vinification according to the appellation: the reds are fermented with gentle pump-overs then aged 12 to 18 months in foudres and barrels. The goal? Preserve the aromatic structure, salinity, and freshness typical of the terroirs.

Iconic cuvées

  • Gigondas “Les Deux Albion”: predominantly grenache, elegant and powerful, notes of black cherry, licorice, and garrigue. Fine tannins, saline finish.

  • Cornas “Vieilles Vignes”: granitic syrah, expressive, pepper, violet, very pronounced mineral depth.

  • Saint‑Joseph “Balmes Dauphinoises”: fine syrah balanced by notes of red fruit and terracotta.

  • Côtes‑du‑Rhône: harmonious blend for a convivial tasting, slightly spicy and delicate.
