Elegant breed, sweet finesse, and saline minerality
Premier Cru Classé of 1855, Château Sigalas‑Rabaud is a 15-hectare estate located in Bommes, known for the refined expressiveness of its Sauternes. The estate is managed according to a family tradition, preserving the balance between aromatic opulence and acidic tension.
The vines are planted on sandy-clay gravel soils that promote quality botrytis. The grape variety is dominated by Sémillon (~85%), supported by Sauvignon Blanc (~15%), for a rich structure with a backdrop of saline freshness.
Manual harvesting spread over several passes to select botrytized berries. Vinification in barrels, followed by aging for 18 to 20 months, with about 50% in new barrels, to combine richness, finesse, and minerality.
Château Sigalas‑Rabaud (Grand Vin): light gold color, delicate nose of honey, white flowers, candied citrus, flint. Airy palate, sugar/acid fusion, saline and long finish. Aging potential: 15 to 30 years.
