Founded in 1857 in Grezzana, in the heart of Valpolicella Classico, Bertani is one of the pillars of Venetian viticulture. It is known for its traditional techniques combined with modern precision, utilizing classified vineyards (quattro cru) located on clay-limestone hillsides. The estate embodies an elegant balance between density, structure, and freshness.
Bertani advocates for sustainable viticulture that respects the terroir. The harvest is manual, and the grapes destined for Amarone and Ripasso are dried using the traditional method on graticci (drying racks), then fermented for a long time in stainless steel tanks with temperature control. Aging takes place in oak barrels and casks, refined to preserve freshness and elegance.
Amarone della Valpolicella Classico: powerful, structured, with aromas of black cherry, cocoa, spices, and tobacco, deep palette, and long finish.
Valpolicella Classico Superiore: aromatic lace, fresh red fruits, balance between body and lightness.
Ripasso della Valpolicella: rich wine from the second fermentation on Amarone marc, a concentrate of fruit and complexity.
Bertarose: delicate rosé from a local appellation, fruity and light.
Amarone Riserva: high-end version, more concentrated, long aging potential.
Recioto della Valpolicella: traditional sweet wine, jammy notes and raisins, indulgent and rich.
Bertani wines combine tradition, power, and elegance. The Amarone is deep and silky, the Ripasso juicy and warm, and the Classico Superiore is fresh, harmonious, and easily accessible. The cuvées express the structure, limestone minerality of the hillsides, and a superb aging capacity.
