A Grand Cru led to excellence by the Bignon family
In 2001, the Bignon family took the reins of this emblematic Médoc estate. Today, Christophe Bignon, a passionate winemaker, ensures the general management, assisted by Zita Bignon, in charge of winemaking, and their oenologist Alexandre Pineau. Together, they aim to express the elegance and finesse of Cabernet-Sauvignon in the Margaux terroir.

Terroir & grape varieties: deep gravel and harmony of Bordeaux grape varieties
The 37 hectares of vines rest on deep gravel mixed with clay, typical of the Margaux plateau. The blend combines Cabernet-Sauvignon (~60%), Merlot (~30%), Cabernet Franc (~5%), and Petit Verdot (~5%), for a classic balance of structure, fruit, and elegance.

Viticulture & philosophy: precision and respect
The estate practices sustainable viticulture, with grass cover between rows, traditional pruning, manual harvesting, and sorting at the plot. Yields are controlled to favor concentration and aromatic finesse.

Winemaking & aging: woody finesse and fruity expression
Vinification in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats, with long macerations of 3 to 4 weeks and regular pump-overs. Aging for 14 to 16 months in French barrels (40% new), depending on the vintage. The desired style: elegance, finesse of tannins, balance, and length.

Iconic cuvées
Château Du Tertre: the estate's grand wine, elegant and refined, aromas of blackcurrant, graphite, flowers, and fine spices, silky palate, and saline finish.
Bel Air du Château Du Tertre: second wine, more accessible when young, fresh and fruity.
Blanc du Château Du Tertre (occasional): a rare and delicate small white, a blend of Sauvignon, offering freshness, citrus, and tension.
