A Story of Transmission and Commitment

Founded in the 18th century, Domaine de Montille experienced a major renaissance under Hubert de Montille, a visionary lawyer, from the 1950s. His rejection of technological wines and marked oak opened the way to a style of pure and straight Burgundy. His son Étienne de Montille, now at the helm of the estate, has continued this line by expanding it and bringing it towards biodynamics and technical excellence.

A Prestigious & Extensive Vineyard

The estate now spans 35 hectares in Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, with emblematic climates: Volnay, Pommard, Puligny, Meursault, Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Corton, and up to Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru. The whole is certified organic since 2012 and managed in biodynamics.

Philosophy: Precision, Tension, Balance

Measured aging, whole clusters on reds, low sulfur, little or no filtration. The whites are vinified with little stirring, in a saline, sharp style. The estate seeks aromatic accuracy, terroir readability, and wines for long aging.

Style: Restrained Intensity, Verticality, and Grace

The Pinot Noirs are straight, fine, sometimes austere in youth but endowed with great internal energy. The Chardonnays shine with their purity, minerality, and aging potential. A Burgundy of modern classicism, which appeals to both purists and enlightened enthusiasts.
