A solar castle, guardian of living traditions
Château de la Gardine is one of the jewels of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a symbol of a sunny and generous terroir. Owned by the Brunier family since 1956, the estate embodies a passion for natural techniques and the indigenous expression of historical grape varieties.

Terroir & grape varieties: rolled pebbles, diversity and depth
The 125 hectares of vines thrive on soils of rolled pebbles, sand, and clay. The classic blend includes Grenache (≥70%), Syrah, Mourvèdre, Counoise, Cinsault, Carignan... balancing rich fruitiness, spices, and tannic structure.

Viticulture & philosophy: balance and natural respect
Sustainable viticulture, separate harvests by grape variety with manual sorting. No herbicides, natural grass cover, integrated pest management. Preferences for biodynamic practices on certain plots, to preserve root and aromatic expression.

Vinification & aging: controlled rusticity
Each grape variety is vinified individually in concrete vats, then blended after fermentation. Aging for 12 to 18 months in foudres and demi-muids, without filtration or heavy fining. The style aims for power, freshness, and Mediterranean authenticity.

Iconic cuvées

  • Château de la Gardine Rouge: dark color, aromas of garrigue, blackberry, pepper, spices, menthol. Ample palate, ripe tannins, finish refreshed by a beautiful mineral tension.

  • La Bastide Blanche: the estate's white cuvée, made from Roussanne, Clairette, and Grenache Blanc, fine, floral, with citrus and warm stone notes.

  • Vintage aged in magnum / old vintages: versions vinified for optimal aging and maturity in large bottles.
