Located on the clay-gravel soils of Lalande-de-Pomerol, Château Bel-Air is a family-owned estate that has been perpetuating artisanal and meticulous viticulture for several generations. It stands out for its discreet elegance and excellent value for money among the region's wines.

The Despagne family, deeply rooted in the Bordeaux wine landscape, manages it with passion. The estate benefits from terroirs neighboring those of Pomerol, with favorable exposure for the optimal ripeness of Merlot.

Terroir and Grape Varieties

The 12-hectare vineyard is mainly composed of deep clays mixed with gravel. Merlot dominates the grape varieties, with additions of Cabernet Franc and sometimes a hint of Cabernet Sauvignon. The average age of the vines is around 30 years.

Precise and Traditional Vinification

The vinifications are carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, with gentle extraction. Aging is done in French oak barrels, 30 to 40% of which are new depending on the vintage, to preserve the balance between fruit and woodiness.
