Château Chasse-Spleen, an emblematic estate of the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation, owes its name to a verse by Baudelaire and has cultivated a unique aura for two centuries. Classified as Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel, it is among the great outsiders of the Médoc. The château is currently managed by Céline Villars and her husband Jean-Pierre Foubet, who ensure a modern vision combined with a deep respect for the terroir.

A unique terroir between Margaux and Saint-Julien
The vineyard extends over approximately 100 hectares, benefiting from a terroir of Garonne gravel on a limestone base. This geology provides an elegant tannic structure and natural freshness. The typical Médoc grape composition – 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot – allows for the creation of balanced and deep wines.

Demanding vinification, a reflection of Médoc precision
Vinifications are conducted plot by plot, with fermentation in thermoregulated stainless steel vats. Aging takes place over 12 to 18 months in French oak barrels, 40% of which are new. The estate's style combines a clear expression of fruit, a taut acidic framework, and perfectly integrated oak.
