Silky balance, discreet elegance, and refined terroir

Petit Village is an 8.5-hectare estate located on the prestigious soils of the Pomerol appellation, close to the greatest. Owned by the Laroche family since 2000, the estate is now finely managed by Marc Leroux, a passionate oenologist, with the aim of crafting a graceful, deep Merlot true to its terroir.

An exceptional terroir

The vines are planted on fine gravel mixed with dark, nourishing clay, offering excellent drainage and ideal retention capacity. The blend, dominated by Merlot (≈90%), is complemented by Cabernet Franc (≈10%). The plot, slightly south-facing, ensures optimal ripeness.

Precise viticulture

Sustainable viticulture, with plot-specific work, internal grassing, manual harvesting, and double sorting (in the vineyard and at the winery). No herbicides or chemical pesticides are used. The approach aims to enhance biodiversity, soil health, and respect the full expression of the terroir.

Delicate vinification & aging

Vinification by batch in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks, gentle maceration (2 to 3 weeks). Aging for 14 to 16 months in French oak barrels (≈30% new wood), offering a perfect balance between gaining secondary aromas and maintaining fruity freshness.

Style & signature cuvée

Château Petit Village: garnet robe, elegant nose of black cherry, plum, and some floral nuances (violet), with a subtle spicy touch. The palate is silky, with fine tannins, invigorating acidity, a delicate saline frame, and an elegant finish. A harmonious wine, enjoyable from 5 years, with an aging potential of 10 to 20 years.
