A Burgundian treasure nestled on the sacred hill
Château de Corton, owned by the André family since the early 20th century, is one of the few emblematic estates of the prestigious Corton appellation. Nestled on east/southeast-facing plots, it embodies the refined expression of the Côte de Beaune terroir.
Terroir & grape varieties: limestone, slope, and age
The estate cultivates several plots aged 30 to 80 years on clay-limestone, ochre, and marl-rich soils. The exposure covers the Corton hillside, including prestigious climates like Le Corton, Les Grèves, and Les Bressandes. 100% Pinot Noir planting, with great attention to plot precision.
Viticulture & philosophy: benevolent tradition
Sustainable viticulture with high density, Guyot pruning, controlled grassing, manual harvesting, and strict sorting at the plot. The goal is to preserve the expression of the vintage and the typicity of each climate.
Vinification & aging: minerality and tension
The grapes are vinified separately in thermoregulated stainless steel vats or small old casks. Maceration lasts 3 to 4 weeks with moderate pump-overs. Aging takes place over 14 to 18 months in French oak barrels, with 30 to 50% new wood, depending on the plot and vintage. No intense filtration.
Emblematic cuvées
Château de Corton: selection of the best climates, powerful and noble wine, aromas of ripe blackcurrant, garrigue, sweet spices, licorice. Present but silky tannins.
Corton “Les Grèves”: racy, elegant expression, with more floral and stony notes.
Corton “Bressandes”: more supple wine, with fresh red fruits and fine tannins.
