Domaine de l’Arlot – Clos, purity and sense of place

A domain born within walls

Created in 1987 around the magnificent Clos de l’Arlot, the estate is located in Prémeaux-Prissey, south of Nuits-Saint-Georges. Now owned by the AXA Millésimes group, it has been skillfully managed by Géraldine Godot since 2014. The vision combines Burgundian rigor, biodynamic work, and a constant quest for purity.

Historical clos and exceptional terroirs

The estate spans 14 ha, mainly in monopolies:

  • Clos de l’Arlot (1er cru, red & white): fresh limestone climate, structure, and elegance.

  • Clos des Forêts Saint-Georges (7.2 ha in monopoly): depth and verticality.

  • Clos du Chapeau (in Côte de Nuits-Villages): accessible, juicy, immediate charm.

Added are a few rows in Vosne-Romanée (Les Suchots) and Romanée-Saint-Vivant, a rare and precious Grand Cru.

Biodynamics and tailor-made vinifications

The estate is certified biodynamic. Harvesting is manual, vinifications are gentle: pump-overs, moderate punch-downs, very little sulfur. Aging takes place in barrels (20–30% new) for 15 to 18 months, with a desire for crystalline expression of the terroir.

Stylistic signature: freshness, energy, subtlety

The wines of Domaine de l’Arlot embody the finesse of the southern Nuits climates. Bright red fruits, silky tannins, mineral framework, mouthwatering finish. The whites (Clos de l’Arlot blanc) surprise with their tension and purity.

Major cuvées

  • Clos de l’Arlot red & white: unique duality of a monopoly both intense and refined.

  • Clos des Forêts Saint-Georges: noble material, great wine for aging.

  • Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots: silky rarity, pure charm.

  • Romanée-Saint-Vivant: Grand Cru of vibrant grace, very confidential.

  • Clos du Chapeau: charming fruitiness, ideal for discovering the house style.
