A Grand Cru Classé between Heritage and Renewal

Classified as Fourth Grand Cru in 1855, Château Lafon-Rochet is one of the discreet jewels of Saint-Estèphe. The estate, long held by the Tesseron family, was taken over in 2021 by Jacky and Emmanuel Lorenzetti, also owners of Château Pédesclaux in Pauillac and Lilian Ladouys in Saint-Estèphe. Under the technical direction of Christel Spinner, Lafon-Rochet is entering a new era, combining technical precision and respect for the terroir.

Terroir & Grape Varieties

The 41-hectare vineyard is based on a terroir of gravelly hills and deep clays, typical of Saint-Estèphe, promoting powerful yet balanced wines.
The grape varieties reflect the Médoc identity: Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), Merlot (40%), with a complement of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

Philosophy & Winemaking

Lafon-Rochet values precise plot work and sustainable agriculture transitioning towards biodynamics. The vinifications are thermo-regulated, followed by aging for 16 to 18 months in barrels, about 50% of which are new. The current style seeks to combine the power of Saint-Estèphe with more finesse and freshness.

Iconic Cuvées

  • Les Pèlerins de Lafon-Rochet: second wine, charming, more accessible in its youth, offering roundness and fruit.
