Domaine de Mont-Redon – The Visionary Rooted in Châteauneuf

A Rhone Valley Legend at the Heart of the Appellation

Founded in 1344, revitalized in the 20th century by Henri Plantin, Domaine de Mont-Redon is today one of the largest family estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with more than 100 hectares in a single block. Generations succeed with passion: Pierre Fabre, Henri's great-grandson, ensures continuity and international outreach.

An Exceptional Terroir on Rolled Pebbles

The main vineyard is located on the famous plateau of rolled pebbles in the northwest of the appellation, at an altitude of 120–135 meters. The soil depth (pebbles on red clay) allows for natural water regulation, ideal for the 13 authorized grape varieties, with a predominance of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. The estate also has vines in Lirac and Côtes-du-Rhône.

Technical Mastery & Constant Ambition

The estate combines manual harvesting, careful sorting, thermo-regulated vinifications in stainless steel or concrete vats, and wood aging (foudres or barrels) to balance power and finesse. Mont-Redon favors moderate extractions and a constant search for structural harmony.

A Classic, Accessible, and Sustainable Style

The reds express racy structure, fruit depth, and a beautiful evolution in the cellar. The whites, among the most renowned of the appellation, are ample, floral, with a rare tension for the region. The estate also stands out for its consistency from one vintage to another.
