Gagliole — Organic Elegance in Chianti Classico
History & Terroir
Nestled between Castellina in Chianti, Panzano, and Badia a Passignano, Gagliole is a boutique Tuscan estate combining traditional farming with a modern organic approach. Committed to purity and expression, the estate reflects the full character of Chianti’s most prized terroirs.
Vineyard & Grape Varieties
The estate spans roughly 22 hectares across three distinctive areas. Castellina offers high-altitude terraces with rocky soils; Panzano’s clay-rich soils yield powerful reds; and Badia a Passignano provides cooler conditions and forest influence. Sangiovese dominates, supported by Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Trebbiano, Malvasia, and select white varieties.
Winemaking Philosophy
Vinification focuses on gentle handling and precise extraction. Grapes are carefully selected, fermentations are slow and temperature-controlled, and aging occurs in a mix of oak barrels and stainless steel depending on the wine style. The approach is low-intervention, always highlighting the purity of fruit and site.
Wine Style
Gagliole’s wines are elegant, structured, and expressive. The Sangiovese shows dark cherry, dried herbs, and spice, framed by fine tannins and bright acidity. From easy-drinking Chianti Classico to complex Gran Selezione, the style remains refined and deeply terroir-driven.
