Discreet Pioneer of Merlot
Established in 1981 in Monteggio (Ticino) after studying forestry and oenology, Daniel Huber revitalized abandoned terraces in the Tresàtal. He is recognized for his iconic Merlots, with rare precision and remarkable finesse. Today, his son Jonas has taken over, while preserving the spirit of the estate.
An Ideal Terraced Terroir
On approximately 7 hectares, the vines thrive on south-facing slopes, in slightly acidic sandy soils, well-drained and rich in humus. The sunny climate of Ticino and the terraces contribute to the slow and concentrated ripening of the grapes.
Style: Finesse, Elegance, Depth
The wines reveal silky tannins, controlled acidity, and an expressive aromatic palette: red and black fruits, subtle spices, and discreet woody notes. They offer both pleasure in youth and aging potential—particularly the flagship Montagna Magica.
Key Cuvées
Montagna Magica: Iconic Merlot, aged for a long time in barrels, rich and velvety.
Fustoquattro: Soft, supple, and easy-to-drink Merlot.
Vigneti di Castello: Lighter terrain, delicate and fruity texture, between finesse and indulgence.
Philosophy: Nature & Authenticity
No use of herbicides or chemical fertilizers; manual harvesting, low yield, fermentation with native yeasts, aging in barrels sparingly. The goal: to express the terroir unadorned.
