A discreet jewel of the Rothschild family
Château Clerc‑Milon is a Grand Cru Classé of Pauillac acquired in 1970 by the Rothschild Group (Mouton) and revitalized through significant investments. This château combines modernity and traditional spirit, driven by a passionate team determined to express the finesse of the Pauillac terroir.

An exceptional terroir in the heart of Pauillac
The vineyard extends over approximately 40 hectares, adjacent to the famous Grands Crus of Pauillac. The soils, composed of deep gravel resting on a limestone base, offer optimal drainage, promote concentration, and bring notes of freshness typical of the Médoc. The vines are on average 25 to 30 years old and planted at high density (~9,000 vines/ha), highlighting the care given to each vine.

Grape Varieties

  • Cabernet Sauvignon (~60%)

  • Merlot (~35%)

  • Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot (~5%)

Philosophy & viticulture
Viticulture combines tradition and respect for the environment: controlled grassing, sustainable practices, and measured interventions. Harvesting is done manually, with meticulous sorting in the vineyard to preserve the purity of the grapes and the expression of the fruit.

Vinification & aging
Vinification is carried out gradually by gravity in stainless steel and wooden vats, promoting finesse of extraction and aromatic complexity. Maceration lasts about 3 to 4 weeks under thermal control. Aging extends over 18 months in French oak barrels, nearly 70% of which are new, supporting the structure while respecting the elegance and precision of the terroir.

Flagship cuvée

  • Château Clerc‑Milon: the signature cuvée, elegant and complex, marked by aromas of blackberry, graphite, cedar, and sweet spices. The palate is deep, balanced, with fine tannins and a long saline finish reminiscent of the minerality of Pauillac's gravel.

  • Tourstella de Clerc‑Milon: second wine, more accessible but refined, with fresh red fruits, beautiful tension, and a pleasant finish.
