A House Founded in 1838
William Deutz and Pierre‑Hubert Geldermann, originally from Aachen, founded the house in Aÿ. From the 19th century, their export vision quickly reached Great Britain, Russia, and Germany.
A Strong Champagne Heritage
Acquired in 1993 by the Rouzaud family (Louis Roederer), the House has benefited from significant investments: renovation of the cellars, enhancement of quality, extensive control of wine supplies.
Terroirs and Supplies
With 45 ha of its own (Grand Cru and Premier Cru), and several hundred through partnerships, Deutz relies on prestigious crus: Aÿ, Côte des Blancs, Verzenay, Mailly, Mesnil…
Vinification and House Style
Complex blends (80% noble crus), fermentation in stainless steel at low temperature, long aging in chalk cellars (up to 65 m underground) without new wood: pure signature, mineral, fine effervescence.
Iconic Cuvées
Brut Classic NV: fresh fruity balance, saline structure – the base of the range.
Brut Rosé NV, Vintage, Blanc de Blancs Millésimé: expression of specific terroirs.
William Deutz, Amour de Deutz, Hommage à William Deutz: prestige, long aging, parcel singularity.
Philosophy: Consistency & Sobriety
“Good taste without showiness”: architectural sobriety, refined label, interior elegance. A safe bet, rigor, timeless elegance.
