Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande – Pauillac, Bordeaux
The feminine elegance of a great Pauillac, between tradition and modernity.
A historic estate in the heart of the Médoc
Classified as a Second Grand Cru in 1855, Château Pichon Comtesse de Lalande embodies the excellence of Pauillac. Heir to an estate founded in the 17th century, it has been led by visionary women, including Virginie de Lalande and May-Eliane de Lencquesaing. Since 2007, it has belonged to the Louis Roederer house, which perpetuates its heritage with passion.
An exceptional terroir
The 89-hectare vineyard stretches over deep gravel, typical of Pauillac, with a particularity: part of the vines is located in the neighboring commune of Saint-Julien, adding an extra touch of finesse.
Vinification and aging
Vinifications are parcel-based, with fermentations in thermoregulated wooden and stainless steel vats. Aging lasts 18 months in French oak barrels, about 60% of which are new, giving the wine complexity and harmony.
Wine style
Pichon Comtesse is distinguished by its elegance, silky structure, and aromatic depth. Aromas of blackcurrant, violet, cedar, and sweet spices. On the palate, a velvety texture, fine tannins, and a long, persistent finish.
