A Discreet Ascent to Excellence

Originally, Andrea Oberto was not a full-time winemaker, but a truck driver. His father cultivated some vines in La Morra alongside agricultural activities. It was only in 1978 that Andrea took over the family estate and decided to turn it into a full-fledged winery. Within a few decades, he elevated the Andrea Oberto estate among the essential references of the region, recognized for the finesse and precision of its Barolo.

Today, his son Fabio Oberto continues the family tradition with the same attention to detail and a forward-looking vision.

A High-Altitude Terroir in the Heart of La Morra

The estate is located in La Morra, one of the most renowned villages of the Barolo DOCG appellation. The vines thrive between 300 and 450 meters above sea level, on marl-limestone soils rich in magnesium, giving the wines freshness, elegance, and tension.

The estate cultivates about 16 hectares, spread over major crus of the commune:

  • Rocche dell’Annunziata: one of the noblest terroirs of La Morra

  • Brunate: famous for its deep and structured wines

  • Albarella and San Giuseppe: confidential lieux-dits, of great precision

A Philosophy Between Rigor, Purity, and Expression of the Cru

The estate relies on an artisanal and plot-based approach, where each wine reflects its origin. No compromise is made on the quality of the grapes: manual harvesting, meticulous sorting, low yield, and respect for the plant.

Fabio Oberto pays particular attention to the integrity of the fruit and the transparency of the terroir, in a style that balances tradition and modernity.

Vinification Combining Tradition and Precision

  • Long fermentations in stainless steel tanks, with gentle pump-overs

  • Extended macerations for slow and controlled extraction

  • Aging from 24 to 36 months in Slavonian oak barrels or barriques, depending on the cuvées

  • Prolonged bottle aging before release to the market

The goal is clear: to respect the structure of Nebbiolo while maintaining its finesse, balance, and longevity.

Iconic Cuvées

  • Barolo Rocche dell’Annunziata: a masterful, floral, and silky wine, emblematic of the nobility of La Morra.

  • Barolo Brunate: denser, deeper, more structured, crafted for aging.

  • Barolo Classico: from a blend of several plots, it offers a remarkable balance between accessibility and complexity.

  • Langhe Nebbiolo: a little Barolo at heart, racy and vibrant, perfect for discovering the Oberto style.

  • Barbera d’Alba: juicy, intense, indulgent, with bursting fruit.
