Established in Vosne‑Romanée since 1830, the Gros family has carried its viticultural legacy across seven generations. Today, Pierre Gros leads the estate with support from his father, Michel. Covering roughly 23 hectares in the Côte de Nuits, the estate combines deep respect for tradition with measured evolution since Michel began building the vineyard in the 1970s.

Prestigious, diverse terroirs

Vineyards span the most revered appellations of Côte de Nuits – Vosne‑Romanée, Chambolle‑Musigny, Nuits‑Saint‑Georges, Morey‑Saint‑Denis. The estate holds the monopole of Vosne‑Romanée 1er Cru “Clos des Réas,” in family possession since 1860. These terroirs bring a broad spectrum—from delicate finesse to profound intensity.

Wine style

Michel Gros’s wines are defined by elegance, precision, and consistency. Meticulous, respectful viticulture precedes careful hand-harvesting and exacting selection. In the cellar, traditional vinification—with calibrated fermentations and oak usage—elevates each cuvée to clarity, balance, sophistication, and age-worthiness.

Signature cuvées

  • Vosne‑Romanée 1er Cru “Clos des Réas” – A striking monopole wine with layered elegance and depth.

  • Chambolle‑Musigny, Nuits‑Saint‑Georges, Morey‑Saint‑Denis – Each appellation expresses its own nuanced profile from delicate to powerful.

  • Bourgogne & Hautes‑Côtes de Nuits – More accessible wines, yet faithful to the estate’s hallmark clarity and aromatic purity.

Philosophy & Winemaking

Driven by disciplined humility, the estate ensures careful attention from vine to bottle. Fermentations are handled traditionally, and new oak is used thoughtfully. This translates into wines that are authentic, refined, and built to age.
