The Domaine Jacques Prieur is one of the very few Burgundy estates to own vineyards in so many prestigious appellations, both in Côte de Nuits and in Côte de Beaune. From Chambertin to Montrachet, it brilliantly embodies the diversity and grandeur of the great Burgundy terroirs, in a style that is both precise, generous, and deeply authentic.
A history woven with vision and demand
Founded at the beginning of the 20th century, the estate takes its name from Jacques Prieur, a visionary who understood very early on the importance of acquiring some of the noblest plots in Burgundy. Today, under the leadership of Nathalie Prieur and oenologist Nadège Gublin, the first female oenologist in Burgundy at this level, the estate combines heritage and demanding modernity.
A unique wine heritage in Burgundy
The estate covers more than 20 hectares, with an exceptional collection of Grands Crus and Premiers Crus:
In Côte de Nuits: Chambertin, Clos de Bèze, Clos de Vougeot, Echézeaux, Musigny…
In Côte de Beaune: Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne, Meursault Perrières, Volnay Santenots…
This parcel richness allows for a jeweler's reading of the terroirs, vintage after vintage.
A racy style, between power and precision
The estate's red wines display a noble structure, just concentration, and remarkable tannin finesse. The whites, on the other hand, have a vibrant minerality, combining straightness, energy, and salivating length. Each cuvée expresses the pure identity of its place of origin.
Iconic cuvées
Montrachet Grand Cru: masterful balance, tension, and breadth.
Chambertin Grand Cru: depth, silkiness, timeless grandeur.
Meursault 1er Cru Perrières: the crystalline brilliance of limestone.
Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru: controlled power and elegance.
A philosophy of precision and respect
The estate is managed with reasoned cultivation, with practices increasingly close to biodynamics. Manual harvesting, rigorous sorting, indigenous yeasts, parcel vinifications in wooden or stainless steel vats, aging on fine lees in Burgundy barrels: everything contributes to revealing the uniqueness of each terroir with accuracy and refinement.
