The elegance of nature, the depth of the terroir, and an assumed creative freedom
Located in Illmitz, on the shores of Lake Neusiedlersee, Christian Tschida stands out as a key figure in the Austrian natural wine scene. Leading a vineyard of 14 hectares, he cultivates his vines biodynamically, with an intuitive, artistic, and demanding approach. Each cuvée is conceived as a work in its own right, a sincere reflection of the place, the vintage, and his inspiration.
Terroir & grape varieties
His old vines take root in soils of sand, limestone, gravel, and schist. The lake's microclimate tempers extremes, promoting slow and balanced ripening. He notably works with Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Grüner Veltliner, and Riesling.
Viticulture & winemaking
The harvest is manual, and the grapes are delicately pressed using an old vertical press. Fermentations occur spontaneously, without the addition of yeasts or enzymes. Long aging in large Austrian barrels (Stockinger), sometimes over several years, gives the wines texture, depth, and serenity.
Style & aging
His wines are fine, vibrant, and incredibly precise. Whether white or red, they reveal silky textures, intense aromas of ripe fruits, flowers, and warm stones. They can evolve from 5 to 15 years depending on the cuvée, and always retain a striking freshness.
Iconic cuvées

Non-Tradition (white & red): racy cuvées with a mineral touch
