A meticulously enriched family heritage
Founded in 1956 by Charles Mortet, the estate was taken over by his son Denis in 1992, then modernized with ambition: multiplication of cuvées by plot, prestigious acquisitions (Lavaux-St-Jacques, Chambertin...), and transition to herbicide-free viticulture. In 2006, Arnaud, Denis's son, took over with Laurence and Clémence, enhancing the family DNA.
Exceptional terroirs cultivated with conscience
Today spread over 16 ha in Côte de Nuits, the estate covers a wide range of climates: from Bourgogne village to seven Grands Crus (Chambertin, Mazis-Chambertin, Bonnes-Mares, Échézeaux...), through emblematic Premiers Crus (Lavaux-St-Jacques, Champeaux, Chambolle-Musigny Aux Beaux Bruns...) and neighboring villages like Marsannay and Fixin.
An adjusted, precise, and vibrant style
The wines combine power and finesse, supported by refreshing acidity and elegant tannins. Under Arnaud's direction, winemaking evolves towards less new wood, sometimes whole cluster fermentations, and controlled extraction, revealing more precise and mineral wines.
Flagship cuvées
Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru “Mes Cinq Terroirs”: blend of the finest village plots.
Lavaux-St-Jacques, Champeaux (1ers Crus): expressive terroirs and refined profile.
Chambertin, Clos-de-Vougeot, Mazis-Chambertin (Grands Crus): rarity, depth, aging potential.
Aux Beaux Bruns (Chambolle-Musigny), Les Longeroies (Marsannay)... controlled diversity.
Philosophy: meticulous viticulture and balanced style
Since 1996, the estate has banned herbicides and chemical fertilizers, favoring horse plowing, natural grassing, and non-certified biodynamics. In the cellar, manual harvesting, triple sorting, measured use of new wood, long aging, and bottling without filtration or fining. The wines are the result of a subtle balance between terroir, finesse, and rigor.
