Bordeaux demand, elegant concentration, and unique terroir

A little treasure of Pomerol, Clos du Clocher is a confidential "clos" of about 3.1 hectares, founded in 1990 by Pierre‑Yves Jousset, now managed by Delphine Jousset. Situated on a sandy-clay terroir with a base of ferruginous gravel, the estate expresses a rare elegance within a vineyard renowned for its intensity.

Terroir & grape varieties

Located on deep soils of sand, clay, and ferruginous gravel, the vines benefit from good water reserves and balanced drainage. The grape variety is dominated by Merlot (≈85%), complemented by Cabernet Franc (≈15%), from vines aged 25 to 35 years.

Viticulture & winemaking

Rigorous viticulture, manual harvesting at optimal maturity, demanding sorting. Long and precise macerations. Aging in French oak barrels for 18 to 20 months, with a new wood dosage of about 50–60%, ensuring structured finesse and perfect integration.

Style & aging potential

The wine reveals a deep color and an intense bouquet: black cherry, plum, truffle, chocolate, floral and spicy notes. On the palate, it is concentrated, velvety, with polished tannins and a long, saline finish. Aging potential: 15 to 25 years, with a peak often at 10 years.
