Perched on the heights of Montalcino, Argiano is one of the historic estates of Tuscany, with origins dating back to 1580. This wine gem marries the nobility of a centuries-old heritage with controlled modernity, under the enlightened direction of Bernard Arnault (LVMH) and the consulting oenologist Alberto Antonini, a respected figure in Italian wine.

Terroir and philosophy

The estate extends over 120 hectares, 57 of which are dedicated to vineyards, bathed in light and protected by the hills of Val d'Orcia. The clay-limestone soils rich in pebbles, combined with an ideal altitude (280-310 m), offer a unique terroir for Sangiovese, the king grape of Brunello. The organic farming, certified since 2019, and a minimalist approach guide each step, respecting the environment and the identity of the wines.

Vinification and style

Under Antonini's impetus, Argiano opted for gentle vinifications in concrete vats, followed by aging in large casks and old barrels, promoting the purity of the fruit, the elegance of the tannins, and a sincere expression of the cru. The wines are straight, racy, but always accessible.

Iconic cuvées

  • Brunello di Montalcino: precise, silky, long, in the image of the great Tuscan Sangiovese.

  • Brunello Riserva "Vigna del Suolo": from a century-old plot, a wine of pure emotion, complex and deep.

  • Solengo: noble blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Sangiovese. Rich, structured, with Bordeaux inspiration.

  • Non Confunditur (NC): accessible entry-level cuvée, charming, blending modernity and tradition.
